Reaching new levels for emulsion PVC

Spring 2004 will see the first verification of compliance against the ECVM Charter for Emulsion PVC production. Signed in February 1999, this charter committed Europe’s PVC manufacturers to reach tough emissions targets during the production of emulsion PVC – following on from the earlier S-PVC Charter.

Last year, reverification of the S-PVC Charter standards reported 93% compliance across all of ECVM’s member company sites. Six of ECVM’s ten member companies have now achieved total compliance with the S-PVC Charter. It is expected there is still work to be done in bringing E-PVC production to the same levels.

As with last year, independent auditors will visit all E-PVC producing plants to assess compliance against the Charter standards. The verification results will be published by ECVM.
